SPOTLIGHT SERIES: ANNA THORVALDSDOTTIR

On Saturday, October 12 at the New Hazlett Theatre, contemporary music ensemble NAT 28 will kick off its fourth season of programming with Spotlight Series: Anna Thorvaldsdottir. The chamber ensemble will present a representative sampling of music by the Icelandic composer, including One for pianist and percussionist performing together on one grand piano, Transitions for solo cello, and Ró for large ensemble. The music will be accompanied by original video art by David Bernabo. The concert furthers NAT 28's mission of amplifying works by extraordinary living composers through multimedia performance. This concert is supported in part by the Opportunity Fund and by WESA/WYEP.

THE MUSIC OF TESSELAT

On Saturday, December 7th at the Frick Fine Arts Building on the University of Pittsburgh campus, contemporary music ensemble NAT 28 will be presenting a concert of music exclusively by composer collective Tesselat.  Read more about the international group of composers at tesselat.com. This concert is supported in part WESA/WYEP.

FOURTH ANNUAL PITTSBURGH COMPOSERS' PROJECT

The annual Pittsburgh Composers' Project features the work of established and emerging composers based in Pittsburgh. This year's concert includes the winners of NAT 28's fourth annual Call for Scores by emerging composers. Additionally, the concert will feature a brand new percussion concerto by Jean-Patrick Besingrand, performed by NAT 28's own Nick Huneycutt.


The Pittsburgh Composers' Project is a great opportunity for audiences to experience the creative and innovative music written by composers who call Pittsburgh home.
