Devin Sherman, Guitar & Director of Marketing

Devin Sherman is a guitarist, teacher, and music collaborator. He lives in Pittsburgh, PA where he performs solo and chamber music with a cast of unique and talented musicians including the ensembles NAT 28, Eclectic Laboratory Chamber Orchestra, and Alia Musica. In addition to performing contemporary chamber music, Devin plays a variety of pop, jazz, and classical music with flutist, Sarah Steranka.

He studied guitar with Matthew Slotkin (Mansfield University), and Christopher Berg (University of South Carolina). While at the University of South Carolina, he performed for numerous University events including the award-winning Southern Exposure new music series, USC Wind Ensemble, Collaborations in Contemporary Art (Cica), and the New Voices series featuring works by USC's composition students. He served as Public Relations Officer for Collaborations in Contemporary Art (Cica), a graduate student organization committed to bringing together USC's creative students to produce unique performances demonstrating the breadth of the contemporary arts.

 

Devin makes up 1/2 of Duo Cortado, a guitar duo in an everlasting pursuit of bringing great music to its audience through performances of duo standards, interesting arrangements and commissions of new music. Duo Cortado has commissioned and premiered works by Thomas Dempster, George Fetner, Kevin Cope, Zack Pentecost, and Travis Kneisly.
